Ah, delicious irony. First time in a month that I actually have something to talk about on my lj, and the whole site slows to a standstill. Darn Russians! /fist shake

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I had a meeting with the financial aid department at the Art Institute yesterday -- *checks clock* okay, the day before yesterday -- and my attendance in the fall is all but a done deal. I can only afford to take two classes at this point due to a bunch of complicated monetary shenanigans that nobody's really interested in, but I'm applying to every scholarship I can find and my mom said she'd try to slip me some money under the table like, plus I'll of course be working at the same time, so hopefully things'll work out.

The real part that worries me is the move. Even renting a bedroom from homeowners in one of the smaller cities that Seattle's swallowed over the decades costs upwards of $400 a month, plus utilities, and nearly everyone on craigslist is asking for at least two months rent up front. This is only sensible, but it puts me in a real bind, due to the fact that I'm only working twenty hours a week and have no savings. Finding a really nice middle-aged couple and playing the pity card might work; I'm really good at getting people my parent's age to start feeling parental, though thinking about it kind of makes me feel bad. What I'd really like, though, is a shared apartment with other students in the area; I'd really like to start making some local friends my own age. Not that you all aren't lovely, but...idk. I've been feeling really isolated this year, with nobody I could just hang out with without careful pre-planning several weeks in advance. Me, a social creature? Who'd have thought.

In other news, there's a red dot on my right calf a bit smaller than a dime that itches. It seems to be a simple bug bite, but I am Suspicious and Watching It Closely. This would be a really shitty time to get MRSA again.

Yeah, I'd keep an eye on that bite.

It's a lot paler than it was yesterday -- the redness might have been due to irritation -- and it hasn't started swelling, so I thiiiink it's safe to say it isn't MRSA. But oh yeah. I'm definitely keeping an eye on it.

Thank you for the hugs.

I will definitely do my best! XD

And I know we already went over this last summer, but if you happen to know anybody around Seattle who's looking for a roommate, I'd appreciate a good word. This is going to be one tricky move. XD
